NEW ORLEANS – A railroad worker alleges he was injured twice while working because of an unsafe working environment.

Adam C. Scott filed a complaint on May 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Union Pacific Railroad Co. alleging that the railroad operator violated the provisions of the Federal Employers' Liability Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 12, 2014, and Feb. 9, 2015, the plaintiff sustained severe injuries while engaged in the course and scope of his employment duties. The plaintiff alleges he suffered physical and mental pain, disability, loss of wages and incurred medical bills. The plaintiff holds Union Pacific Railroad Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide a safe place to work and failed to employ and require safe working practices.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages reasonable in the premises, plus interest and all cost of these proceedings. He is represented by Blake G. Arata Jr., C. Perrin Rome III and W. Chad Stelly of Rome, Arata, Baxley & Stelly LLC in New Orleans.
