Jefferson Parish woman seeking damages following a car crash

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman claims that she was caused to crash her car when a bus unexpectedly pulled into her lane.

Gabrielle Short filed a suit May 10 against Octavia Gloston Scott and CCMSI in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was driving west on South Drive in Jefferson Parish when the defendant, a school bus driver, pulled into the plaintiff's lane and caused her to swerve. The plaintiff claims she was forced to swerve to avoid hitting the bus, which caused to collide with other drivers.

The defendant is accused of negligence and reckless driving of a bus, failing to obey the rules of the road and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Brandon J. Venegas in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court case number 771706.
