Fire at New Orleans property allegedly caused irreparable damage to another house

NEW ORLEANS – An individual is seeking damages for a fire. 

Allstate Indemnity Co., as subrogee of Dionne Bryant, filed a lawsuit May 11 against CaPhe Sua Da LLC, T&T Real Estate Development LLC, certain underwriters at Lloyd's London, Lloyd's America LLC, Affinity Insurance Porgram Marketing LLC, Mclaren's and ABC Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was caused to suffer extensive damages on May 16, 2016, when a fire started at 1534 Piety St., New Orleans and spread to 1538 Piety St. The suit states that the plaintiff sustained permanent damages due to the fire and the defendant is at fault.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to take the proper precautions, failing to warn of the danger and failing to properly reimburse the plaintiff for the damages suffered.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Matthew M. Friedman of the Law Offices of Harold G. Toscano in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Nakisha Ervin-Knott.
