New Orleans woman claims daughter took money without permission

Contract 01

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman claims that her daughter took money from a bank account without authorization.

Linda M. McGrew filed a lawsuit May 24 against Moneka Storey and Capital One Bank in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging tort.

According to the complaint, on May 27, 2016, the plaintiff asked her daughter, Storey, for a ride to Capital One Bank at 3161 Gentilly Blvd. The suit states that the plaintiff wanted to deposit a check for $19,770. The plaintiff had given her daughter use of the account in case of emergency. The suit states that Storey misused the rights to the account and liquidated the majority of the account. Capital One informed the plaintiff that it could not give her any more information about her account.

The defendant is accused of negligence and breach of contract.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney Lilly L. Hall in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
