Orleans Parish woman claims law firm distributed defamatory email

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman claims that a false email was distributed that harmed her reputation.

Darleen Levy filed a lawsuit May 22 against Jack E. Truitt and The Truitt Law Firm LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging defamation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff claims that an email was distributed that was false and caused the plaintiff damages in a trial.

The defendant is accused of defamation and infliction of mental and emotional anxiety.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is represented by herself and Al Sarrat, Rene Lovelace and Hunter Harris in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
