Orleans Parish woman seeking damages after she fell while shopping in a HomeGoods

GRETNA – An Orleans Parish woman was caused to fall in a HomeGoods.

Kathy Minor filed a suit May 23 against The TJX Companies Inc., doing business as HomeGoods, and Zurich American Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at the HomeGoods at 6601 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, on May 21, 2016, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff fell and was injured. The defendant allegedly failed to keep the store in a safe condition.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to properly manage the store, failing to warn of danger and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by Caleb H. Didriksen, Carl A. Woods III, Jeremy J. Pichon and Michael Finkelstein of Didriksen, Saucier, Woods and Pichon PLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.

The 24th Judicial District Court case number 772199.
