St. Tammany Parish claims she was bitten by bats at casino

GRETNA – A St. Tammany Parish woman claims that she was bitten by bats.

Denise M. Guy filed a suit May 31 against Pinnacle Entertainment Inc., doing business as Boomtown Casino New Orleans, and/or Boomtown Belle Casino in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest at the defendant's property, located at 4132 Peters Road, Harvey, when the incident took place. The plaintiff was allegedly bitten by bats, which were under the table, resulting in emotional distress and physical injury. She also claims she suffered monetary damages from medical care needed following the incident.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to remedy the situation, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Garter B. Wright in Covington.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
