Jefferson Parish woman alleges she was attacked at a high school graduation

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman claims she was attacked at a graduation.

Ashlee Villavaso filed a suit June 1 against Collette Butler of New Orleans in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging tortious actions.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at a high school graduation June 4, 2016, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while the plaintiff was with her friends and family members, she was physically attacked by the defendant, who punched her in the face and kicked her. The suit also states that the defendant had created a false identity for the plaintiff online, which harmed her reputation.

The defendant is accused of physical assault, damaging the plaintiff's personal property and violation of criminal laws.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Leo Caillier III of Caillier & Associates LLC in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
