New Orleans woman seeks damages for 2016 car crash

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is seeking damages for a car accident, claiming negligence.

Ashley Muse, individually and on behalf of her minor daughter, filed a lawsuit May 30 against Tanchanelle Washington and Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was driving on Elysian Fields when the incident took place May 31, 2016. The suit states that the defendant ran a red light and struck the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to drive with appropriate care, failing to see what was coming and failing to keep an open eye.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney Elizabeth Harvey Icamina.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
