Jefferson Parish resident alleges cracked step caused fall

NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish resident claims a defective step resulted in a fall.

Darnell Terral filed a lawsuit June 7 against Ochsner Clinic Foundation in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was at the defendant's property June 23 when Terral was caused to fall due to a crack on a step.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to provide a safe location for visitors, failing to warn of the danger and failing to repair the defect in the property.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Jim S. Hall of Jim S. Hall & Associates in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
