Former Nygard Inc. employee claims she is owed unpaid wages

NEW ORLEANS – A woman alleges her former employer wrongfully withheld bonuses from her checks.

Callie Trahan filed a complaint on June 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Nygard NY Retail LLC, doing business as Nygard International Partnership, and Nygard Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendantd from 2007 to 2017 as a retail merchandise coordinator. She alleges that during her employment, she was not properly compensated for all hours she worked over 40 per workweek.

The plaintiff holds Nygard NY Retail LLC and Nygard Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to correctly pay plaintiff's overtime hours and wrongfully withheld bonuses and benefits still owed to plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid wages and lost benefits, liquidated damages, costs of the action, attorneys’ fees, interest and all further relief as may be necessary and appropriate.
