Woman claims she fell at New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood Co. due to slippery floor

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman claims that she was caused to slip and fall in a restaurant.

Shawn Wright filed a suit June 14 against New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood Co. and Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place Feb. 24 at 6920 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. The suit states that the plaintiff fell on a slippery floor in the restaurant.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to ensure that the premises were safe, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by James M. Williams, George B. Recile and Barry W. Sartin Jr. of Chehardy, Sherman, Williams, Murray, Recile, Stakelum & Hayes LLP in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
