J.C. Penney employee claims she was attacked by co-worker

NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish woman is seeking damages for an alleged attack that occurred when she was at work.

Pamela Kennedy filed a lawsuit June 23 against J.C. Penney Co. Inc., Laura Escoto and ABC Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging tort.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff, a J.C. Penney employee, was working June 25, 2016, when the incident took place. The suit states that the plaintiff was injured when Escoto attacked her. The plaintiff claims she did not provoke the attack and that the defendant wished to inflict pain on her, according to the suit.

The defendant is accused of assault.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is represented by herself.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
