Jefferson Parish residents accused of failing to properly use money intended for home repairs

GRETNA – A contracting company is seeking damages for breaching a contract of over $30,000.

120 West Partners LLC filed a suit June 5 against Learner W. Waits and Ether B. Wilson in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for a promissory note following Hurricane Katrina. The suit states the defendants were given $30,000 to make certain repairs to damage that had been sustained during the hurricane. The suit states the defendants have failed to show they used the money as specified, therefore breaching the contract.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Blake E. Oakes of The Oakes Law Firm LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
