NEW ORLEANS – A St. Tammany Parish man alleges his reputation was damaged by a frivolous petition for divorce.

James White filed a complaint on July 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Mattie Brownlow, Diamond Offshore Inc., Michael D. George PC and Michael D. George alleging that they violated the Fourth and 14th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants allegedly fabricated and falsified a marital regime between himself and Brownlow and filed a frivolous petition for divorce. At the time the defendants' suit was served, plaintiff had recently married and he alleges it portrayed him as a bigamist and caused harm to his reputation.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages, court cost, attorney fees, out-of-pocket expenses, penalty, interest and all general and equitable relief. He is represented by Jennifer M. Medley in New Orleans.
