NEW ORLEANS – Dominican Republic citizen residing in Jefferson Parish alleges that his Houma employers failed to provide a safe place to work.

Georges F. Payano filed a complaint on July 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Environmental Safety and Health Consulting Services Inc., ES&H Inc. and ES&H of Dallas LLC

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 6, 2016, he was employed by defendants as Jones Act seaman working on board a vessel when he experienced an accident. He alleges he has suffered serious physical and mental injuries, including a traumatic tear of his right bicep and mental psyche.

The plaintiff holds Environmental Safety and Health Consulting Services Inc., ES&H Inc. and ES&H of Dallas LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide a safe place to work and failed to provide adequate and safe gear, equipment and appurtenances on the vessel.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendants, jointly, severally and in solido, in an amount reasonable under the premises, plus interest, costs and all general and equitable relief. He is represented by Joseph S. Piacun, Thomas A. Gennusa II and Reid S. Uzee of Gennusa, Piacun & Ruli in Metairie and Leonard J. Cline of Leonard J. Cline Attorney at Law in Metairie.
