NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish woman claims she was terminated from her employment without reason and without pay.

Cindy Hoerner filed a lawsuit against Degas House LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was the director of sales for the defendant. The suit states that her date of hire was Feb. 2, 2016, and that she was terminated from her position without reason on April 20, 2017. Despite being hired for a commission-based position, the plaintiff was allegedly never paid in full for work that she brought to the defendant. The plaintiff is seeking damages for withheld income of $31,500 and termination without cause.

The defendant is accused of failing to pay the plaintiff for work she completed and withholding her earnings.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney D. Douglas Howard Jr. in New Orleans of Howard, Reed & Pedersen.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
