Northwestern State claims student failed to pay almost $3,000

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking damages for an open account, claiming that it is owed nearly $3,000.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through Northwestern State University filed a lawsuit against Jaleesa Hannah Bean in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an open account with the balance of $2,708.81. The suit states that the defendant has failed to pay the amount necessary to settle the account.

The defendant is accused of having an open account.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Scott L. Smith Jr. of Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
