Woman claims she slipped on wet floor at a McDonald's in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she was caused to slip and fall at a McDonald's.

Lillie Matthews filed a lawsuit against LJC Management LLC, doing business as McDonald's Restaurant, and International Insurance Co. of Hanover, SE in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident which took place on Oct. 12, 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff was dining at the McDonald's at 3520 General De Gaulle Drive in New Orleans when she was she slipped and fell on a recently mopped area that did not have a sign warning it was wet.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to use proper signage and overall negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Philip C. Ciaccio Jr. in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
