Man blames McDonald's after falling in parking lot

GRETNA — A man claims that he fell in the parking lot of a Metairie McDonald's due to the establishment's own negligence.

Joseph Ranzino filed a suit on Nov. 6 against McDonald's Corporation, CLB Investments LLC, York Risk Services Group and XYZ Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on Nov. 7, 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff was at the McDonald's at 3532 Severn Ave. when he was caused to slip and fall in a slick parking lot.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to protect customers, failing to warn of danger and overall negligence of management.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs.  The plaintiff is represented by Anthony S. Taormina of the Law Offices of Anthony Taormina in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
