Woman seeks damages for trip and fall at restaurant

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims she slipped and fell at a restaurant.

Emily-Joyce Mary Marquez filed a lawsuit Feb. 1 against State Farm Fire and Casualty Co., New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood Co. LLC, and others  in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damage claiming that on Feb. 4, 2017 the plaintiff was injured while at 12000 E. Interstate 10 Service Road in New Orleans. The plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on a substance that had been left on the ground and was injured as a result.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Michael Ginart Jr of the Law Offices of Michael C. Ginart Jr & Associates in Chalmette.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Nakisha Ervin-Knott.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-1000.
