Pepsi sued for racial discrimination

Federal Court
Lawsuit

BATON ROUGE -- Timothy Green filed a federal complaint on August 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Pepsico d/b/a Pepsi Beverages Co., Inc. for racial discrimination.

According to the complaint, Green was an employee at Pepsi Beverages Co., Inc. Green alleges that during his employment, Pepsi, through its agents and managers, established and maintained a pattern and practice of discriminatory treatment towards Green by arbitrary adverse actions against him and against company policy by creating an environment incompatible for African Americans to maintain and/or better their position.

Green alleges he sought to resolve discriminatory practices internally through Defendant’s Human Resources Department but was forced to lodge a formal complaint with the Equal Opportunity and Employment Commission (“EEOC”).

Green seeks compensatory damages; back pay and front pay; mental anguish; humiliation and embarrassment; loss of reputation; compensatory damages resulting from the breach of contract based on discrimination; prejudgment interest; attorney’s fees; and all costs of proceedings. Green is represented by Karl Bernarn.
