SHREVEPORT - Joann T. Maynard filed a federal lawsuit on December 6 in the Western District of Louisiana against Premiere Entertainment Shreveport, LLC, previously named Eldorado Casino Shreveport Joint Venture, Inc. d/b/a Eldorado Resort Casino Shreveport for negligence and personal injury.

According to the suit, on Feb. 28, 2021, Maynard had been staying at Defendant's hotel and while checking out, she slipped and fell due to liquid on the lobby floor.

Defendant is alleged to have been negligent in placing protective devices such as non-skid matting, warning signs or cones to protect customers from dangerous hazards. It allegedly failed to inspect and maintain the lobby floor to keep it safe and knowingly kept unreasonably unsafe conditions.

Maynard was caused to suffer serious bodily and mental injuries and resulting damages including physical and mental pain and suffering which continues. Maynard had to receive medical treatment for both physical therapy and rehab services.

Maynard seeks a judgment for costs of proceedings, general and equitable relief and other amounts deemed appropriate by the court. Maynard is represented by John O. Pieksen, Jr. of New Orleans.
