In the State of Louisiana, First Circuit Court of Appeal, Timothy Matthew Blackwood and Jessica Lynn Blackwood have filed a lawsuit against Robert Reeves and Laurien Reeves. The case, with ID 2023 CA 0304 and dated February 29, 2024, involves allegations of harassment and stalking by the defendants towards the plaintiffs.

The dispute between these neighbors in Slidell, Louisiana began in June 2019. The Blackwoods claimed that Mr. Reeves frequently yelled harassing remarks at them through their backyard fence, causing them to fear for their family's safety. They also reported incidents such as Mr. Reeves discharging a firearm near their home, trespassing onto their property with his boat, and shining a flashlight into their living room through windows.

A preliminary injunction was issued on June 15, 2021 prohibiting the Reeves from harassing or threatening the Blackwoods or coming within fifteen yards of them or their residence. It also ordered the relocation of any cameras directed at the Blackwoods' property and prohibited firearms on the Reeves' property. However, on November 24, 2021, the Blackwoods filed a Rule for Contempt against the Reeves alleging non-compliance with this injunction.

The plaintiffs are seeking judgement for contempt against the defendants for not complying with the preliminary injunction. They are also seeking damages including attorney’s fees. The trial court has fined each defendant $500 to be paid within thirty days and extended the expiration date of the injunction to November 15, 2022.
