Stay Funded LLC has filed a lawsuit against Bates Companies Inc. in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, under case ID 2:24-cv-00820-GGG-DPC, on April 1, 2024. The suit alleges that Bates Companies Inc. failed to fulfill its contractual obligations resulting in financial damages exceeding $75,000.

The plaintiff, represented by their counsel, is a Florida-based limited liability company while the defendant is a Louisiana-based corporation owned by Joseph Bates. The case stems from two independent contractor agreements entered into by Bates with Fiber Kings LLC and SEB Construction LLC for construction projects in Oregon and New Jersey respectively.

According to the complaint, Stay Funded LLC acquired invoices from Fiber Kings and SEB amounting to $233,928.68 and $174,353.05 respectively. Despite demands for payment and Bates' agreement to pay these amounts directly to Stay Funded instead of Fiber Kings and SEB, no payments have been made.

Stay Funded LLC is seeking judgment against Bates Companies Inc., demanding payment of the outstanding invoices plus accrued interest and fees.
