In the State of Louisiana, Court of Appeal, First Circuit (Case ID: 2023 CA 1046), Laurie V. Moore has filed a lawsuit against Edward J. Vauthier, IT, L&E One, LLC and L&E II, LLC. The case was presided over by the Honorable Vincent J. Lobello and the judgment was rendered on April 19th.

Moore's legal representation includes David M. McDonald and Molly M. Jones while the defendants are represented by Richard A. Tonry, II, Raymond J. Brinson, Brian L. Glorioso and S. Michele Blanchard. The plaintiff alleges that her brother and father created two limited liability companies to protect certain income-producing property co-owned by them but used fraudulent tactics to convince her to sign two quitclaim deeds in July 2013.

The defendants have raised an objection of vagueness and a peremptory exception raising the objection of prescription, arguing that Moore's nullity action is prescribed under the five-year period set forth in La. C.C. art. 2032 for relative nullities.

Moore seeks to annul these quitclaims on grounds of fraud and seeks damages related to loss of use, loss of fruits or loss of ability to make insurance claims against the property as well as attorney’s fees.
