A recent New Orleans triple murder is the subject of a civil suit filed by Gretna attorney Leo Palazzo in Orleans Parish District Court on May 12.

The suit was filed on behalf of Erica Muse, Eric Andrews and the Estates of Wanda Simpson, Monica Muse and Jennifer Muse.

On March 31, Alfred Andrews, Sr. is alleged to have killed Simpson, Monica and Jennifer Muse and, according to the suit, "called one of his daughters, admitted to her what he had done, and then cowardly shot himself in the face."

Alfred Andrews died of the self-inflicted gun wound. His estate is named as defendant in the lawsuit.

The murder drew media attention when it was discovered that Magistrate Commissioner Marie Bookman acquitted Andrews of domestic violence charges just two days prior to the murder-suicide.

According to the suit, Andrews is liable for all the mental anguish, funeral expenses and loss of quality of life.

This case is assigned to Judge Ethel Julien.
