Man sues Sewerage and Water Board after car accident

A New Orleans man is suing the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans after a two-car accident in 2010.

Covington attorney Elizabeth Icamina filed the petition for damages on behalf of Ronald Dupaty in Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

The suit claims Clements was "operating his vehicle eastbound on Cadiz Street when suddenly and without warning defendant Michael Clements crossed into the intersection of Willow and Cadiz, causing petition to strike defendant's vehicle."

Dupaty's car struck a tree after hitting Clements, the suit claims.

Clements is liable for failing to stop at a stop sign, "[f]ailure to see what should have been seen," and "all other acts of negligence," the suit claims.

The suit does not state what the Sewerage and Water Board is liable for.

The suit lists Traveler's Casulaty[sic] and USAA Casulaty[sic] as defendants.

The suit was filed June 9.

Orleans Parish Judge Rosemary Ledet was assigned this case.
