Contractor sued by building materials supplier for past due bill

DONALDSONVILLE – An Ascension Parish contractor is being sued for a past due account by an East Baton Rouge building materials supplier.

T&L Forest Products filed suit on Jan. 17 in the 23rd Judicial District Court against JRP Construction and its owner Randy Pebworth.

JRP is alleged to have run up a bill of $8,551.80 when T&L's attorneys submitted a letter of demand to the company. The filing states over the next 15 days JRP paid the debt down to $5,900. The plaintiff is seeking the remainder of the balance be paid in addition to 18 percent interest and 25 percent attorney's fees.

T&L is being represented by Baton Rouge-based attorney Sharon B. Kyle.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Ralph Tureau.
