NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans man has filed suit against a local hotel and one of its tenants for injuries he claims occurred from an assault as he was leaving their premises.
Jesse Paige filed suit on March 2 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. and Stewart J. Juneau.
According to the suit, Paige claims he attended a Mardi Gras party at Juneau's penthouse in the hotel and was exiting the building when he was severely injured in an assault by an unknown assailant.
The defendant's are accused of failing to have adequate security to handle confrontations in or near the Juneau penthouse, failing to provide security for entrance and exit of premises, failing to protect innocent guests, failing to identify potential assailants and exposing innocent patrons to harm by failing to remove potential assailants or criminal elements on the night of the incident.
Less than $50,000 in damages is sought for pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish and medical expenses.
Paige is being represented by Michael W. Collins of Metairie-based the Law Offices of Craig S. S. Sossaman.
Case number 2012-02135 has been assigned to Division H Judge Michael G. Bagneris.
