Fairgrounds race track sued by man in slip and fall

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans man is suing the local horse racing track for injuries he claims to have received on their premises.

Lloyd Graffagnini filed suit on April 9 against Churchill Downs Horseracing Co. and the Fairgrounds Race Course in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

Graffagnini claims he was attending a horse race when he fell and injured himself. The plaintiff alleges severe and disabling injuries.

Graffagnini claims the defendant should have known about dangerous condition failure, failed to warn failure of he danger and failed to remedy the hazard.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expesnes, loss of earming, permanent disability, loss of consortium and attorney's fees.

Graffagnini is being represented by Jeanne K. Demarest of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Michael G. Bagneris.
