Construction company sues real estate developer over allegedly unpaid work

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans construction company is suing a developer for unpaid work.

Robert L. Armbruster and his company F.I.N.S. Construction, LLC filed suit on April 16 against Cambrie R.E. Partners, LLC and Stephen G. Anderson in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

Armbruster claims he entered into an agreement with Anderson and Cambrie concerning managing the redevelopment of a property, which would then be sold and the profit split between F.I.N.S. and Cambrie.

The plaintiff claims he also did the contracting work for a lower price than would be provided by others while Cambrie acted as a financial agent and bought the property at 4 Versailles Blvd. before it was rehabbed for $330,000. Armbruster asserts he acted as the selling agent also.

Damages are sought in the amount Armbruster asserts he was still owed including $35,152.42 from Cambrie for the contractor work and a portion of the final $630,000 selling price of the property in addition to a $3,000 payment made in a purchase deposit by the company.

Armbruster is being represented by Jason M. Cerise of New Orleans-based Locke Lord LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
