McDonald's sued in slip and fall

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is suing a local fast food eatery for injuries she claims to have received on their premises.

Kimberley S. Gosserand filed suit on April 17 against Coaxum Enterprises, Inc. and McDonald's in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court. Gosserand claims she was visiting the McDonald's on St. Charles Avenue when she slipped and fell while descending the restaurant's stairs.

The plaintiff alleges a witness saw a child spill a soft drink on the stairs prior to her falling. Gosserand asserts she sustained severe and disabling injuries to her low back, left knee, left ankle and left foot.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, medical costs and impairment of earning capacity.

Gosserand is being represented by Seth Schaumburg of New Orleans-based Favret, Demarest, Russo & Lutkewitte.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
