Man suing daiquiri store alleging beating by employees and patrons

DONALDSONVILLE – An Ascension Parish man filed suit against a daiquiri store for injuries he claims occurred in an attack on their premises.

Wesley W. Baudoin filed suit on June 4 in the 23rd Judicial District Court against Southpaws Daiquiris, LLC. Baudoin claims he was a patron at Southpaw Daiquiris at 13375 La. Highway 73 in Geismar when he was attacked and physically beaten and injured by other patrons and employees of the establishment.

The plaintiff alleges he was severely injured in the attack including damage to his left eye socket, swelling to his head, soft tissue contusion, severe face pain, soft contusion and swelling in the right knee and soft tissue contusion swelling in arms, hands and fingers.

The defendants are accused of failing to provide a safe environment, failing to protect from harm, failing to supervise and negligent supervision of employees.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for mental pain and suffering, humiliation, embarrassment, physical pain and suffering and medical expenses.

Baudoin is represented by Baton Rouge-based attorneys Larry H. Smith and Grant L. Smith.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Alvin Turner, Jr.
