Engineer sues ASAP hundreds of hours of overtime pay

NEW ORLEANS - A manufacturing engineer has filed a lawsuit that claims he was not paid for hundreds of hours in overtime compensation while working at a machine and fabrication business.

William Hall filed suit against ASAP Industries on June 26 in federal court in New Orleans.

ASAP is a full service, precision machining and fabrication business that specializes in the manufacture, repair, and refurbishment of components used in the drilling and production of oil and natural gas.

Hall worked for the defendant as a manufacturing design engineer and was paid on an hourly basis, plus a 5 percent performance bonus every quarter. He claims that he was not paid for hours worked after his normal workday concluded. Hall also states that he was not paid time and a half at his regular rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours per workweek.

The defendant is accused of failing to pay Hall for hundreds of hours of work in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The plaintiff is requesting damages for overtime pay, back wages, liquidated damages, attorney's fees, interest, and court costs.

Hall is represented by Norman A. Mott III, Adrian A. D'Arcy of Shields Mott Lund L.L.P in New Orleans. A jury trial is requested.

U.S. District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo is assigned to the case.
