Country Club sued by former employees in post-Katrina termination

NEW ORLEANS – Two former employees of a St. Tammany Parish country club have sued their former employer.

Henry J. Maumus and James R. Headrick, Jr. filed suit against Donald E. Pate and Eastover Development Corporation in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 9. The plaintiffs claim they were hired by the defendant prior to Hurricane Katrina and were promised retirement benefits and a management fee in the club.

Maumus and Headrick allege that following the storm they were terminated by the defendant who has continued to refuse to pay their final payroll check as well withholding other benefits.

The defendant is accused of breaching their employment contract.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought by the plaintiffs for overdue employment proceeds.

The plaintiffs are represented by Metairie-based attorney Anthony L. Glorioso.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.

Case no. 2012-06625.
