GRETNA – A St. John woman has sued a Kenner gas station for injuries he claims to have received on its premises.
Quinzeatter M. Ford filed suit against Racetrac Petroleum, Inc. in the 24th Judicial District on July 18. Ford claims he was shopping the Racetrac on Airline Highway in Kenner when she slipped on a foreign substance and fell to the floor. The plaintiff alleges she received severe injuries in the fall to her left knee in which she tore the meniscus that may need surgical repair in the future.
The defendant is accused of failing to hire competent personnel to monitor the floor, failing to properly maintain the store, failing to exercise reasonable care to keep the store in a safe condition, failing to hire competent employees to not create dangerous conditions and failing to keep a proper degree of care for a fixed place of business.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, mental anguish, inconvenience, humiliation, embarrassment, medical expenses and loss of wages.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen S. Kovach.
