McGuire's Pub being sued by fight promoters

McGuire's Pub on Magazine St. in New Orleans.

NEW ORLEANS - A Louisiana-based fight promotion company is suing a local venue for alleged breach of contract.

Prestige Fights L.L.C. filed a lawsuit against McGuire's Inc. in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Aug. 7.

Prestige claims that after fulfilling all the duties of a sponsorship contract between their corporation and the defendant, the defendant stopped payment on a check used to cover a sponsorship fee of $1,400. The plaintiff alleges that this action breached the contractual agreement and caused monetary damages.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract, gross and wanton negligence and intent to defraud.

The plaintiff is seeking recompense for all damages and request that the defendants pay twice the original amount owed, attorney fees and court costs.

Prestige L.L.C is represented by Attorney Christopher D. Becnel of Reserve.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
