Edward Womac Jr.

NEW ORLEANS - An Orleans Parish woman is suing a local casino for an alleged injury on its premises.

Helen Cheek filed a lawsuit against Jazz Casino Company, LLC, commonly known as Harrah's Casino New Orleans, in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Aug. 10. Cheek claims that Harrah's employees failed to warn patrons that the restrooms floors were wet. The defendant is accused of failure to warn patrons of hazard, failure to provide safe areas for patrons and visitors, failure to place warning signs or block off the area, and any and all other acts of negligence which may be proven at the trial of this matter.

An unspecified amount is sought for all damages, including but not exclusively for, pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of earnings, and permanent disability of the body.

Helen Cheek is represented by New Orleans-based attorney Edward Womac Jr.

This case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.

Case no. 2012-07895.
