BATON ROUGE – A Baton Rouge woman sued a hardware store after she tripped and fell in its parking lot.
Karen Renee Mills filed suit against the D&T Corporation of Baton Rouge and its insurance company in the 19th Judicial Court on Oct. 17. The plaintiff claims she fell to the ground in the parking lot of True Value Hardware located at 2882 Government St. on Aug. 28. She asserts she injured her fibula, pelvis and tailbone and was transported to Baton Rouge General Medical Center by ambulance.
The defendant is accused of failing to warn of a dangerous condition, which caused the plaintiff to be harmed and failing to keep a parking lot free and clear of tripping hazards.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, lost wages, mental pain and suffering, medical expenses and loss of enjoyment of life.
Mills is represented by John W. deGravelles of deGravelles, Palmintier, Holthaus and Fruge.
The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Kay Bates.
