GRETNA – An incorporated property in Kenner is suing its former tenant for damages to the building.
1675 Airline, LLC filed suit against DTG Operations, Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 2. 1675 Airline claims it received a transfer of property located at 1675 Airline Hwy. in Kenner on Oct. 18, 2011. The plaintiff alleges that its former tenant DTG Operations occupied the property from April 28, 2005 until Jan. 31, 2012. 1675 Airline asserts that upon DTG Operations moving out of the premises it found the property to be severely damaged and that the roof had damages of $15,000 and that the inability to let another tenant move in before repairs cost them another $15,000.
The defendant is accused of allowing the property to deteriorate while it was in their possession.
Damages are sought for $30,000 plus attorney's fees and courts costs. The plaintiff also asks the court to allow them to keep the $6,000 deposit DTG originally put on the property.
1675 Airline, LLC is represented by Irl R. Silverstein of Gretna-based The Silverstein Law Firm, APLC.
The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
Case no. 719-625.
