GRETNA – A New Orleans woman is suing a local law enforcement agency and a law enforcement officer for allegedly causing an auto accident.
Patricia M. Blache filed suit against Thomas A. Cutri and Newell Normand Jefferson Parish Sheriff in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 10. Blache claims she was at the intersection of Manhattan and Gretna boulevards in Jefferson Parish when Cutri in his official capacity as a Jefferson Parish deputy ran into her vehicle. The plaintiff alleges that she received severe and disabling injuries in the accident.
The defendant is accused of failing to yield, failing to see what should have been seen, failing to keep a good and careful lookout, failing to maintain reasonable and proper control of his vehicle, driving at a speed greater than was reasonable and prudent and operating his vehicle in a careless and reckless manner.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental pain and suffering, rental expenses, property damage, loss or use and depreciation of vehicle, medical expenses, loss of past and future earnings, loss of future earning capacity, permanent disability of the body, loss of consortium, loss of enjoyment of life, penalties and attorney's fees.
