GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man is suing a business owner he claims failed to pay him back.

Anthony Fuentes filed suit against Santos International German Car Specialist and Juan Santos in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 13. Fuentes claims that he loaned $2,800 over a few payments to Santos who allegedly said he would pay back the amount. The plaintiff alleges that he attempted to collect on the loan several times before he finally gave a demand letter for the amount to the defendant. Fuentes asserts that he also paid Santos in advance to repair his car and that Santos always found a reason why he could not repair the car in a timely manner and did not repair the car nor return it.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for $2,800 in personal loans, $750 in car repair payments, the return of the plaintiff’s 1997 Mercedes Benz, all litigation costs, mental anguish related to breach of oral contracts from a business associate and the plaintiff being without his car for over a year.

Fuentes is represented by Metairie-based attorney Patrick B. Sanders.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen S. Kovach.

Case no. 721-044.
