NEW ORLEANS - A St. John Parish woman is suing the Louisiana Superdome and its insurer claiming she fell on the premises of the Superdome parking lot.

Marilyn Braud Sharp filed a lawsuit against Louisiana Stadium Expo District and Fara Insurance Company in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Dec. 4. Sharp contends that while traversing the fourth floor of the parking area she fell over a concrete block causing her to sustain physical injuries to her right hand, right wrist, right leg and knee and lower back.

The defendant is accused of failing to sufficiently light the parking area and failing to prevent an incident of this nature taking place.

An unspecified amount is sought for all medical costs, permanent disability, pain and suffering and emotional distress.

The plaintiff is representing herself.

This case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
