St. Margaret’s Nursing Home sued by woman whose feet were allegedly run over by wheelchair

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is suing a local nursing home alleging she was injured on the premises.

Paula West filed a lawsuit against The St. Margaret’s Daughters d/b/a St. Margaret’s Nursing Home in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Dec. 12. West claims that while the elevator door was closing a wheelchair bound person rolled over her feet causing multiple injuries.

The defendant is accused of failing to properly maintain and repair the elevator and its door, failing to provide a properly working elevator, failing to warn of hazardous conditions and negligence.

An unspecified amount is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses and loss of enjoyment of life.

Attorney A.J. Rebennack of Metairie is representing the plaintiff in court.

This case has been assigned to Division H Judge Michael G. Bagneris.

Case no. 2012-11595.
