NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman is suing a local grocery store chain for alleged damages after falling on the premises.

Keisha Johnson filed a lawsuit against Winn Dixie Montgomery LLC and its insurer in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Feb. 5.

Johnson claims to have slipped and fallen on a wet substance on the floor of the Chef Menteur Highway Winn Dixie and sustained physical injury.

The defendant is accused of leaving the wet substance on the floor, failing to warn of the wet substance on the floor, being the cause of the spill and failing to prevent the occurrence.

The plaintiffs are seeking compensation for pain and suffering, bodily disability, lost wages, medical expense and impairment of psychological functioning.

Rodney Kelp Littlefield of New Orleans-based Regan, Littlefield, Thomas & Sandhu PLC will represent Johnson in court.

This case has been assigned to Division H Judge Michael G. Bagneris.

Case no. 2013-01105.
