GRETNA – A Metairie-based construction company is suing a contractor who subcontracted them to work on the replacement of railroad crossings in New Orleans, but allegedly did not pay them.

Constructionsouth Inc. filed suit against Command Construction LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 9. Constructionsouth Inc. claims it entered into a subcontract with Command Construction in February 2010 to remove and replace railroad crossing on Poydras St. in New Orleans.

The plaintiff alleges it completed the job in a timely workmanlike manner, but that the defendant has failed and refused to pay  for the work.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for all amounts owed.

Constructionsouth Inc. is represented by William L. Brockman of Metairie-based Blue Williams LLP.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.
