GRETNA – An employee who was fired from her job after reportedly notifying her human resources department of a conflict between her and co-workers over discussions about the 2012 presidential election is suing.
Lorrie L. Fisher filed suit against ASI Federal Credit Union in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 9.
Fisher asserts that she was employed as a teller at the ASI Federal Credit Union located at 3875 General DeGaulle Drive in New Orleans from June 21, 2010 through Dec. 26, 2012. The plaintiff alleges that she began to feel friction between her and her co-workers because she did not participate in conversations about the 2012 presidential election. Fisher claims that she filed a complaint with human resources department and that shortly afterward she was fired for failing to update contact information for a customer and failing to follow proper protocol as was given in her employment training.
The defendant is accused of wrongful termination.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for loss of earnings, embarrassment, humiliation and mental pain and suffering.
Fisher is represented by attorney Anthony L. Glorioso of Metairie.
The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robert A. Pitre Jr.
