GRETNA – A man who claims he was severely injured by glass after his patio door was allegedly smashed by debris thrown from a weedeater is suing.
Donald Bulen filed suit against Karen Bell, Richard Bell Jr., Richard Bell Sr. and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 16.
Bulen asserts that he and his wife were watching TV in the den of their home located at 512 Dunbar Place in Terrytown when they heard an object shatter their sliding glass door. The plaintiff alleges that when he went to look at the damage he slipped on shards of glass and fell. Bulen claims he received injuries to his neck, back, ankles, legs and lower back in the incident for which he received medical treatment for several months.
The plaintiff asserts that he later found the broken glass door was due to an object that was thrown from a weedeater being used by Richard Bell Jr. who was mowing the lawn next door. Bulen alleges that this was the second time the glass door had been shattered due to the neighbor’s yard work.
The defendant is accused of negligence.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for compensation for injuries and property damage.
Bulen is represented by attorney Overton T. Harrington Jr. of Gretna.
The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.
Case no. 734-650.
