By Louisiana Record reports | Apr 7, 2014

GRETNA – A plumber is being sued by a property insurance company who claims a customer’s property was damaged after a water line burst.

State Farm Fire and Casualty Company, as subrogee of Julie Kitziger, filed suit against R.L. Falcon Plumbing Co. Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 13.

State Farm Fire and Casualty Company alleges that on March 23, 2013 a water line installed by R.L. Falcon Plumbing Co. Inc. burst and flooded the kitchen, living room and foyer areas of Kitziger’s home causing damage to the floors and personal property. The plaintiff asserts that the burst pipe was caused by the improper installation of a quick connect adapter that was over-tightened.

The defendant is accused of causing property damage.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for repair and replacement of Kitziger’s personal property.

State Farm Fire and Casualty Company is represented by attorney Charles S. Green of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright Jr.

Case no. 736-466.
